The shaping on this yoke is inspired by the domed ceilings of ancient buildings, from Mycenae to Isfalah. Usually ornately decorated with colour and gilt, this knitted interpretation focuses on the elegant structure beneath.

This top-down circular yoke is worked in the round and inside out. Note the special instructions for picking up underarm stitches from the wrong side. The wrong side is the working side.

This pattern originally appeared in Pom Pom Quarterly Issue 29
