Worked from the top down, this classic stranded colourwork sweater offers a simple 2-colour yoke chart that comes to life when worked in a colour -changing yarn like Noro Kureyon. However, it’s easy to adjust for solid yarns as the design breaks down into sections very easily - try using 3 or even 6 contrast colours.

Offered in 13 chest/bust sizes, with three different waist shaping options and both tall and standard lengths for sleeves and body, Kesian is a unisex pattern with options to fit a wide range of shapes and sizes.

Choosing a Size: With a wide size range and optional instructions for straight, hourglass and inverted triangle waist shaping, this sweater is unisex. I’ve noted length difference for Standard and Tall sizing; be sure to note the yardage requirements differ. Wear this with 2-3” of positive ease, for a classic fit as modeled here, or with more ease as desired.

  • 4.5 mm (US 7) 16” & 32” circular and DPNs or preferred needles for small circumference knitting
  • 5 mm (US 8) 16, 24 & 32” circular needles and DPNs or preferred needles for small circumference knitting
  • Stitch markers
  • Darning needle to weave in ends

GAUGE:

18 sts & 24 rounds over 4” square in stranded colourwork and stockinette, after blocking

Getting Gauge: If necessary, change needles to get the same gauge in stranded colourwork and plain stockinette.
